Post-Divorce Mantra

Really. What more can I add to this? This pretty much sums up the last five years of my life.

  1. I love this…thank you! Totally, totally relate. I remember at one point saying to a friend, “Maybe I should just start doing all the things I am being accused of…my life might be more fun”. So needed to read this today, thank you

  2. I can relate. However, one difference is that instead of picking up my name and washing the mud off it, I changed it. It is liberating to have a new name, a new identity. (Post on that to come). Happy New Year 🙂

    • I will look forward to that post! I have struggled so much with the name issue because of my young children. I’m just waiting for some reporter or policeman to show up at my door someday to tell me about some scandalous thing my EX has done – and that they have found me through the shared name. I’m exaggerating slightly, but not really.

Anyhow, congratulations on the new name and new identity – how exciting! It just feel good. And happy new year to you too.

      • Yes, it does feel good. Liberating. I cringe when someone calls me by my married name now.
(However, understand the children issue. Mine are older. Yet, there is a degree of sadness there that we no longer share our names).
